Drink Plenty of Pure, Filtered Water
Drink enough pure, filtered water every day. It seems simple, but most experts agree that chronic, low-grade dehydration is a common problem, with 70% of Americans not drinking enough water.
I didn’t pay attention to this core principle until I began investigating the essential role that water plays in our health. Think about it – the water in your body is the main delivery system for nutrients and oxygen, as well as the power behind the waste removal system.
Water is essential for flushing out toxic buidup. If you’re experiencing any of these common symptoms of dehydration, consider whether you’re drinking enough water:
- Excessive Thirst
- Dark Colored Urine
- Frequent Urinary Infections
- High Blood Pressure
- Dry Skin
- Fatigue
- Kidney Stones
- Headaches
- Heartburn
- Constipation
- Premature Aging
- Irritability
Drinking adequate amounts of quality water is a key necessity for optimal health. Your body is comprised of 65 percent water. It’s needed for every bodily function including digestion, blood circulation, nutrient absorption, body temperature regulation, and detoxification.
A good rule of thumb is to drink one half your body weight in ounces every day to keep your body sufficiently hydrated.
For example, a person weighing 160 lbs should drink at least 80 ounces of water per day. Keep in mind that water means water – there is no substitute.
Drinking water is a simple and necessary step in getting back to optimal health.
